TAMPA, FL (June 01, 2011) – The Tampa Downtown Partnership launched a mobile version of its popular website today. The mobile website brings all the excitement and news about downtown Tampa to palm of smart phone users’ hands. The mobile website address is m.tampasdowntown.com. The website features six main categories for users to select. They are events, Getting Around Guides, Dining, Shopping, and Arts & Entertainment.
The Partnership created the mobile website in response to a growing trend among people using their smart phones to acquire information. Based on monthly website activity reports, the number of people using some form of smart phone technology to log into www.tampasdowntown.com has been steadily increasing month over month. The Partnership’s full website is not mobile user-friendly enough to meet the needs and expectations of smart phone users.
The Partnership selected to create a mobile website over the creation of an application in order for information to be accessible over a variety of smart phone platforms.
Smart phone users are encouraged to go to m.tampasdowntown.com to begin their search for information about downtown Tampa.
The Tampa Downtown Partnership is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)6 organization.
